Questions

Who can use these badges?

Anyone. Makers, bloggers, journalists, YouTubers, owners, researchers and students can embed a badge on any page they control. No account is needed.

What does the text on a badge mean?

Every listed robot says "Listed" and company pages say "Profiled". Articles and news stories say "Featured", and comparisons say "Compared". A robot that is among the most viewed in its category on OriginOfBots over the last 30 days says "Top 10" or "Top 25" for that category. The text is set by our server, so it cannot be changed through the URL, and it updates by itself.

What happens if a robot is removed?

Retired and unpublished items fall back to the plain OriginOfBots badge, so an old embed never turns into a broken image.

Does the badge slow my page down?

No. It is one small SVG image (about 1 KB), cached on our side and in the browser. It sets no cookies and runs no scripts.
