Founded: 2015•HQ: South Korea•CEO: Sangho Yi•Models: 1

Mand.ro is a South Korean maker of affordable, lightweight robotic prosthetic hands, based in Bucheon with a manufacturing site in Seoul. It was founded in October 2015 by Sangho Yi, a software engineer with a doctorate from Seoul National University who had worked at INRIA and Samsung, and it began as a 3D-printing software company before moving into prosthetics. Mand.ro scans the user's arm in 3D, then designs, 3D-prints, assembles and tests a custom myoelectric hand, which it says takes about one week from the first meeting. It develops its own tiny motors, gearboxes and controllers and has released much of its research as open source. Its Mark 7D hand was a CES 2024 Best of Innovation honoree, and the Mark 7X, which adds a two-axis wrist to a 20 cm hand, was a CES 2026 Innovation Awards honoree in Accessibility & Longevity. Its Mark 7 hands and Mark 7D finger modules are also used as robotic hands for humanoid platforms.

Mark 7X

Manufactured by Mand.ro

Mark 7X is Mand.ro's wrist-enabled robotic prosthetic hand for people with below-elbow amputations. It adds a two-degree-of-freedom wrist that can cock and snap like a real wrist, yet keeps the whole device about as long as an average adult hand. Five motorised fingers built from Mand.ro's Mark 7D finger modules respond to surface EMG signals from the user's arm, and a soft pressure sensor in the palm helps with natural object handling. Each hand is 3D-scanned, 3D-printed and fitted to its user, and Mark 7X was named a CES 2026 Innovation Awards honoree.
