Tencent Robotics X
Tencent Robotics X is the robotics research lab of Tencent, established in 2018 in Shenzhen to apply the company's AI, cloud computing and data strengths to robotics, and led by Dr Zhang Zhengyou. It aims to develop robots for human intelligence enhancement, physical augmentation, emotional care and human-machine collaboration. Its robots include the quadruped Jamoca, announced on 20 November 2020, the four-legged Max, released in a new generation on 8 August 2022 and weighing about 14 kg with three actuators per leg, and Ollie, a wheel-legged robot that can do 360-degree aerial somersaults and was later given tactile sensing.
