Honey Badger 4.0
by MAB Robotics
Released: 2024
The Honey Badger 4.0 by MAB Robotics is a highly mobile and adaptable quadruped robot designed for operation in rough terrains and challenging environments, including underwater and underground settings. Its universal, robust, and versatile design supports industrial applications like infrastructure inspection in sewers, heating tunnels, and water canals, as well as research and development. Key capabilities include amphibious locomotion, IP67-rated waterproofing for dust, water, and submersion, operation up to 100 meters underground, and a top speed of 1 m/s. Equipped with cameras, gas sensors, LiDAR, and modular tools, it navigates urban, rural, flooded, and unstructured areas with stability on uneven terrain. Recent advancements feature on-robot reinforcement learning for omnidirectional gaits, enhancing autonomy and adaptability in extreme conditions like sewers and flooded environments. Deployed in Poznań for real-world inspections, it reduces risks in dangerous locations.
