KUAVO 5-W
Last updated:
KUAVO 5-W is the wheeled version of Leju Robotics' KUAVO 5 general-purpose humanoid, launched with the legged KUAVO 5 in November 2025 for industrial work. It mounts the KUAVO humanoid upper body on a lifting torso and an omnidirectional wheeled base that turns on the spot, reaching from the floor to 2.6 m. Leju's spec sheet lists 836 × 548 × 2000 mm (extended), 156 kg, 40 degrees of freedom with 6-DoF dexterous hands, 500 N·m peak joint torque, 5 kg per arm and 20 kg whole-body payload, 100–2070 TOPS of compute, four depth cameras and two 2D lidars, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, and at least 8 hours of endurance. The waist rotates ±180° to cover a full circle, hand modules release quickly, and 3D visual SLAM with semantic mapping handles navigation. Leju targets warehouse tote handling, automotive and 3C manufacturing, and patrol and inspection work.
Quick Overview & Key Facts
KUAVO 5-W is a humanoid system developed by Leju Robotics in China and launched in 2025. Starting price is estimated at Approx. $45,000 – $60,000. It is currently ranked #344 in most-viewed humanoid robots on Origin of Bots. It supports Totes, boxes, SMT reels and industrial parts. Operating battery runtime is rated at ≥8 hours endurance (spec sheet); 6 hours of continuous non-stop work (feature sheet). Primary applications include Warehouse tote picking and empty-box return, automotive and 3C electronics manufacturing (SMT material shelving), logistics transfer, patrol and inspection, and data collection in training grounds.

Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about this robot
Q1. What is KUAVO 5-W, and what problem is it designed to solve?
KUAVO 5-W is the wheeled version of the KUAVO 5 humanoid from Leju Robotics. It puts a humanoid upper body on a mobile base so that it can do steady, all-day handling work in factories and warehouses.
Q2. What are the main capabilities and key features of KUAVO 5-W?
It moves in any direction and turns on the spot, raises and rotates its torso to reach from the floor to high shelves, swaps between grippers and dexterous hands, and navigates by itself using depth cameras, lidar and visual mapping.
Q3. Who is KUAVO 5-W built for, and which industries can benefit from it?
It is built for manufacturers, logistics and warehouse operators, and inspection and patrol work, including automotive and electronics factories.
Q4. Is KUAVO 5-W a commercial product or still a research prototype?
It is a commercial product that Leju sells and deploys in industrial settings.
Q5. Is KUAVO 5-W currently available for purchase, and when is it expected to ship?
Yes. It is offered by Leju Robotics; pricing is provided on request.
Q6. How does KUAVO 5-W actually work in real-world environments?
It maps its surroundings, plans routes and picks objects with cameras and lidar, while Leju's dispatch software assigns tasks from factory systems and coordinates several robots. Skills are trained from data collected in Leju training grounds.
Q7. When was KUAVO 5-W announced or officially launched?
Leju launched the KUAVO 5-W alongside the legged KUAVO 5 in late 2025.
Q8. How is KUAVO 5-W different from other robots in the same category?
Compared with legged humanoids, the wheeled base gives it longer working time, more stability and a very large working space, while it keeps a humanoid upper body that can use tools and stations built for people.
Q9. Does KUAVO 5-W require additional development or customization after purchase?
Each site typically connects the robot to its own systems and trains its specific tasks, and Leju supports secondary development.
Q10. What is the future roadmap or planned upgrades for KUAVO 5-W?
Leju is building out its training grounds and industrial software so that KUAVO robots learn more skills and scale up in factories.
