M1 EDU Combo is a desk-sized bipedal humanoid from Zeroth, sold as "your first humanoid RL robot" for developers who want to learn reinforcement learning on a real humanoid instead of a robot dog or a full-size machine. Standing 50 cm tall and weighing about 2.7 kg, M1 has 12 leg joints arranged like a full-size humanoid, six per leg across the hip, knee and ankle, plus two arms, and it uses the same IMU, joint-angle and joint-velocity control loop that larger humanoids rely on. Owners train walking policies with PPO in NVIDIA Isaac Gym or MuJoCo on an ordinary gaming laptop, export them through ONNX and deploy them to the robot with a single command or a controller shortcut. M1 ships with six ready-to-run skills: variable-speed walking, walking on carpet, pulling a cart, getting up after a fall, dancing, and standing and walking on a moving cart. A head LiDAR, an RGB camera, a torso depth sensor and a microphone array support face recognition, obstacle avoidance and SLAM research, and the included wheeled cart adds a fast rolling mode. The combo comes in a foam carry case with a remote controller, the cart and full open-source training and deployment code.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about this robot

Q1. What is M1 EDU Combo, and what problem is it designed to solve?

M1 EDU Combo is a desk-sized humanoid robot from Zeroth for learning reinforcement learning on real humanoid hardware.

Q2. What are the main capabilities and key features of M1 EDU Combo?

It walks on two legs with a leg layout like full-size humanoids, runs ready-made skills, recognizes faces, avoids obstacles and can ride or pull its included cart.

Q3. Who is M1 EDU Combo built for, and which industries can benefit from it?

It is built for developers, students and researchers who want to learn humanoid locomotion without the cost and risk of a full-size robot.

Q4. Is M1 EDU Combo a commercial product or still a research prototype?

It is a commercial product sold directly by Zeroth as a developer and education kit.

Q5. Is M1 EDU Combo currently available for purchase, and when is it expected to ship?

Yes. Zeroth takes pre-orders on its online store, currently shipping to the United States only.

Q6. How does M1 EDU Combo actually work in real-world environments?

You train a walking policy in simulation on your own computer, export it, and deploy it to the robot, which runs it using its motion and joint sensors.

Q7. When was M1 EDU Combo announced or officially launched?

Zeroth opened pre-orders in 2026, with the first batch scheduled to ship in the fourth quarter.

Q8. How is M1 EDU Combo different from other robots in the same category?

Unlike robot dogs or toy bipeds, it gives a true humanoid leg structure plus two arms, so skills learned on it transfer to larger humanoids.

Q9. Does M1 EDU Combo require additional development or customization after purchase?

It works out of the box with a gamepad, while the open training and deployment code lets owners write their own behaviors.

Q10. What is the future roadmap or planned upgrades for M1 EDU Combo?

Zeroth shares example training scripts and reference policies with owners through its developer community and keeps the software updated over the air.
