A Humanoid Built for the Lab Bench

On October 21, 2026, Munich-based Agile Robots launched Agile ONE SN together with NVIDIA at the GTC conference in Berlin. The company describes it as a compact humanoid reference platform designed for research and development.

Instead of selling only a robot body, Agile Robots is offering a single integrated system. It is meant to let developers and researchers build, train and validate humanoid skills in the lab and then carry them into real-world work.

Why Research Teams Lose So Much Time

Agile Robots says demand for general-purpose humanoids is growing fast, yet research teams still lose valuable time on integration. Hardware, data collection, simulation, training and deployment often rely on separate tools.

Agile ONE SN is pitched as the fix. By bringing those steps together on one platform, the company says teams can spend less time on setup and reach real-world experiments sooner.

The Body: Small, Light and Dexterous

The robot uses the Agile ONE S humanoid body, which stands 1.4 meters (4.59 feet) tall. Agile Robots lists its weight at 43 kilograms (95 pounds), while NVIDIA's own announcement gives 40 kilograms, so the exact figure may depend on configuration.

The body has 31 degrees of freedom and can carry up to 3 kilograms with each arm. Joint torque reaches up to 140 newton meters, which the company links to whole-body control.

Hands With a Sense of Touch

Agile ONE SN carries two Wuji tactile five-finger hands, each with 20 degrees of freedom. Together with the body, that adds up to 71 degrees of freedom across the whole robot.

Tactile hands matter because they let a robot feel what it is holding. For researchers who study grasping and fine manipulation, that kind of sensing is a key ingredient.

Eyes, Wrists and a Powerful Brain

For sensing, the robot has RGB-D cameras on its head, additional cameras on its wrists for close-range manipulation, and a 3D LiDAR. Together they give it a view of both the wider room and the object in its hand.

Processing happens on board an NVIDIA Jetson Thor computer, which handles real-time sensor processing and robot inference. Connectivity comes through Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth, and an emergency stop button and other safety features are included.

Software Ready on Day One

The robot ships preconfigured with NVIDIA Isaac GR00T software. That includes the GR00T 1.7 open vision-language-action model, GR00T whole-body control and an open reference workflow for the full development cycle.

That workflow runs from demonstration capture and data generation through simulation, training, evaluation, deployment and real-world testing. URDF and USD assets let teams bring the robot straight into NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab.

Open, Modular and Aimed at Industry

Agile Robots calls the platform open and modular. Teams can use the whole workflow or integrate only selected parts into their own software, and the company says researchers keep full control of their data.

Agile ONE SN is the compact research counterpart of the full-size Agile ONE, which is aimed at industrial applications. Skills and data developed on the smaller robot can later be transferred to the larger one.

When Can You Get One?

Agile Robots says Agile ONE SN is scheduled to be available beginning in 2027. It was shown at the NVIDIA booth and at the Agile Robots booth at GTC Berlin, and the company says institutions such as Stanford University and ETH Zurich have shown interest.

Agile Robots has not published a price. Press coverage reports that the company plans to start production of the S and SN variants by the end of 2026 and aims for 1,000 to 2,000 humanoids in 2027, but those figures are reported plans rather than confirmed output.
