Top 9 European Humanoid Companies to Watch in 2026-2027

NEURA is the best-funded European humanoid name on this list. The Metzingen company, founded in 2019 by David Reger, builds cognitive robots that include the MAiRA cobot, the MiPA service robot and the 4NE-1 humanoid, whose artificial skin senses contact. It raised a €120 million Series B in January 2025 and announced a Series C of up to $1.4 billion at a $7 billion valuation in June 2026, led by Tether. Volume shipments of the 4NE-1 are expected from late 2026.

1X is the European-rooted home humanoid to watch. Bernt Børnich founded it in Norway in 2014 as Halodi Robotics, and it now works from Palo Alto, California. Its NEO robot is made for everyday chores, with early-access deliveries in the United States planned for 2026 and other countries from 2027. Robots are built at a factory in Hayward, California, opened in April 2026. Its investors range from the OpenAI Startup Fund to EQT Ventures, and in 2025 it took over Kind Humanoid.

Agile Robots is the German industrial challenger. The Munich company, founded in 2018 by Zhaopeng Chen and Peter Meusel from the German Aerospace Center's robotics institute, became a unicorn in 2021 when a $220 million Series C led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 valued it above $1 billion. It has grown by buying Franka Emika, BMW's idealworks logistics robotics business and Thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering. Its first humanoid, Agile ONE, was shown at Hannover Messe in April 2026. Industrial buyers are its target customers.

HUMANOID is Europe's newest humanoid contender. The London company, founded in 2024 by Artem Sokolov, has more than 200 engineers and researchers and offices in Boston and Vancouver. Its HMND 01 Alpha family includes a wheeled model for picking, sorting and tote handling and a bipedal model, running its KinetIQ fleet-learning framework. In May 2026 it signed a Schaeffler deal to deploy a four-digit number of wheeled robots by 2032, and in July 2026 it raised US$152 million at a US$1.35 billion valuation.

PAL Robotics is Europe's longest-running humanoid maker, with more than two decades of experience building robots for research. The Barcelona company, founded in 2004 and led by co-founder Francesco Ferro, built REEM-A in 2005, the first full-size autonomous biped made in Europe, and later the TALOS research humanoid in 2017. Its TIAGo mobile manipulator, first shown in 2015, is widely used in labs, and ARI, a social AI robot, launched in 2019. PAL has about 100 employees and sells mainly to universities, research centres and companies.

Engineered Arts brings expressive faces to the European list. Will Jackson founded the Falmouth company in 2004 and it built RoboThespian in 2005, with more than 50 installed at places such as NASA's Kennedy Space Center and science museums. It also makes the Mesmer range of hyper-realistic humanoids and built the Ai-Da artist robot in 2019. Ameca, which debuted at CES in January 2022, focuses on facial expression and conversation and runs on the company's own Tritium operating system. Its robots are mostly sold for entertainment and research.

Hexagon brings an industrial-technology giant to humanoids. The Stockholm group, with about 24,000 employees, launched AEON through its Robotics division on June 17, 2025 at Hexagon LIVE Global, a hybrid robot that rolls on wheels in its feet or walks and swaps its own battery. Pilots began with manufacturers including Schaeffler and Pilatus, and BMW plans to use AEON in battery and component production at its Leipzig plant, with a pilot phase from summer 2026. AEON is built with NVIDIA computing.

Furhat Robotics is the conversational-AI specialist among European names. Samer Al Moubayed and colleagues founded the Stockholm company in 2014 as a spin-off from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Its robot head has a back-projected animated face that talks, listens and shows expressions, and is used in research, education, customer service and healthcare. Furhat acquired Misty Robotics in January 2022, raised a $2.5 million seed round in 2017 and counts Disney, Intel and Honda among its customers. It is best known for conversation, not movement.

Enchanted Tools is the French service-robot hopeful. Jérôme Monceaux, who helped create the Nao and Pepper robots, founded it in Paris in 2021. Its Mirokaï has a cartoon-like face and agile arms and balances on a single ball, and is aimed at hospitals, hotels, events and shops. It delivered the first Mirokaï in July 2024 to Sorbonne University's ISIR robotics institute, has a partnership with the AP-HP Broca geriatric hospital in Paris, and raised €17 million in seed funding. Its ball-balancing design is unusual among humanoids.
